From September 14 to 18, we’re recognizing Kinship & Alternate Care Awareness Week! Kin help preserve and strengthen the connections to family, culture and community that shape a child or youth’s identity and sense of belonging. Their support can help families stay together and provide care… when a child or youth cannot safely remain at home.

This week, we celebrate the relatives, extended family and community members who offer this care, connection and support.

This event brings together Black children and youth receiving services through HCFS and Catholic Children's Aid Society of Hamilton.
